A flow piece inspired by the freedom of time.
2026 bought us loss.
Mum passed in January after a quick 5 week fight with cancer. In isolation, without Mum, only highlighted Dads state of health. He has since been diagnosed with Dementia. During this journey, I became his Welfare Guardian, advocating for him and on his behalf.
I created two pieces that helped me process whatever was going on in my head during this time. These pieces specifically convey our conversations we had over this period of time. Each ribbon becomes a time band. Specific to a memory in a time, place or event. Sometimes he remembers I am his daughter. Sometimes he thinks I am his sister. I am still there. In his memory. But as long as it is there, it is a memory for him to talk about, even if only for a few minutes.
700mm Round (Diameter)
Resin on Board
'Remember The Time' is the bigger piece of the two. The other piece is called 'Slipping Away' and is listed separately.
